Why not help children's hospices while filing your tax return? It's very easy to donate 1% of your tax return to charity - it is enough to fill in the appropriate lines in your tax return form and name the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy) as the beneficiary of your tax donation. According to the Polish law in order to become a beneficiary of the 1% charitable tax donation, an organisation or an individual has to be registered in the National Court Register. We feel that children's hospices are one of the most important institutions supporting both the youngest patients and their parents, helping them to deal with their child's disease and monitoring treatment of often incurable illness. Last year, the Foundation decided to purchase cars for hospices, so that medical personnel and medical equipment can get to little patients to treat them in their homes. Emotional comfort and security prove to be as important in treating young patients as does modern medical equipment.
This year, we decided to provide a more holistic support to hospices - which, contrary to the popular opinion are institutions which help people live - and allocate the funds raised via 1% charitable tax donation to the purchase of medical equipment for hospices.
Five days before the 32nd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, we visited the 'Pomnik - Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka' (Children's Memorial Health Institute) to ceremoniously inaugurate the first Ophthalmic Simulation Laboratory in Europe dedicated exclusively to the field of peadiatric ophthalmology.
Lidia Niedźwiedzka-Owsiak, who is the director of the medical division of the GOCC Foundation, was awarded an Honoris Causa at the Poznań University of Medical Sciences. This recognition was given in appreciation of her commitment to upholding the highest standards in healthcare.
Less than 60 days before the 32nd Grand Finale fundraiser, the Collection Boxes were presented during a press conference. Just this year, there were 226,000 boxes produced.
