Golden Spinning Top – what is it?
The Golden Spinning Top is brass statuette awarded by the audience for the best performance at Przystanek Woodstock Festival. The prize was awarded for the first time in 1995. Since 1996 the Golden Spinning Top has been given to the winner on Przystanek Woodstock stage, which means that along with the prize the lucky artist gets the chance to once again play at the biggest festival stage in Poland.
The voting rules
The contest that all the Woodstockians had been waiting for finally started: The Golden Spinning Top Contest. Although the vote has only been open for a couple of hours, the situation on the top has already changed completely many Times. Like in the previous edition, weekly results will be announced every Tuesday. For the time being please familiarize yourselves with the contest’s rules and learn how to vote for your favorite bands.
This edition of the contest will see three Golden Spinning Top prizes. Two of them will be awarded for two bands from the Big Stage; a Polish one and an international one. The winners will be chosen out of all big stage artists in one vote. The third prize, for folk stage performance, will be awarded in a separate vote.
The vote will be held the following way:
The contest is divided into stages. Whenever a stage finishes, those participants who received the lowest number of votes are rejected; the rest continues to the next stage. Depending on the number of votes, there will be two or three bands in the final stage. Your votes will determine the winners of both contests, and you will be able to see them again at Woodstock 2013.
Each of you can only vote once during one stage, and to ensure that, the votes will be verified via e-mail. Those who voted in one stage will be able to do this again in the next one, no matter whether the band they voted for is still in the contest or not. This way, you have the chance to vote for the same performer a couple of times or support somebody else in every stage.
