Nineteen hospitals in Poland will receive beds purchased by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation as part of our COVID-19 relief initiative. The list of hospitals for infections diseases, which are on the frontline of the fight with the virus in Poland, has been created in cooperation with the Polish Ministry of Health.

List of hospitals

ICU beds ensure the safety and access to patients being treated in the intensive care unit wards. The 150 beds are the first purchase the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity has made in aid of COVID-19 relief in the country

We aim to work as quickly as possible, responding to the critical needs of hospitals. The equipment we ordered first - beds for ICU units will be delivered soon. We are working to provide cardiac monitors, and we are trying to work on the logistic issues concerning delivery of personal protection equipment we ordered for our frontline medical workers. We also keep working on finalizing additional purchases of medical devices thanks to our COVID-10 Relief Fund, says Jurek Owsiak, chairman of the GOCC.

COVID-19 relief initiative purchases amount to PLN 2 500 000. The investments are made with the money raised through the 1% charitable tax donation and with the funds raised at this year's Grand Finale. What is more, thanks to the support we received from our corporate partners, such as Coca-Cola, Grupa Alumetal, CD PROJEKT S.A, Ten Square Games, Lech, Play, Lidl, Schiller, Medicart, Amazon and Oskroba Bakery, we were able to establish a COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The 150 beds for the intensive care units across the country are just the beginning of our COVID-19 relief initiative. The Foundation secured a purchase of 157 cardiac monitors, 50 000 of personal protection equipment sets (coveralls, masks, gloves) for frontline medical staff, COVID-19 detection machine and 3 000 coronavirus tests. Our charity is committed to helping the Polish healthcare system fight the spread of the virus.
