The medical objective of the upcoming Grand Finale fundraiser, which will take place on Sunday, January 12th, 2020 will focus on raising money to ensure the highest standards of diagnostics and care in paediatric surgery and treatment. Our motto is Wind in Our Sails!
Our charity run
The weather might be frightful, but on the day of the Grand Finale, on Sunday, January the 13th many of you will be taking part in different editions of the charitable run. The main event - the Get Even with Diabetes run - will take place in Warsaw.
The 5000 participants will take part in the 5K run across the capital city, but there are local editions of the race held in different towns and cities across Poland and in three locations abroad: in Watford, UK, in Dublin, the Republic of Ireland, and in Sandnes, Norway. It is worth noting that the Irish edition of the run will be a 24-hour relay run across the capital.
Our aim is to raise money for the purchase of personal insulin pumps, which are then rented out to pregnant women with diabetes. On top of that, the run and its different, local editions are a great way to promote a healthy lifestyle, raise awareness, and show our support to people with diabetes.
Olga Tokarczuk donated the first official replica of the medal to the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity to be auctioned off in aid of the medical objective of the Grand Finale fundraiser 2020.
With Grand Finale looming on the horizon (not long to go before we celebrate the biggest fundraising drive in the country!), some Collection Centres are already holding fundraising events and Collection Boxes are displayed on business premises and shops.
