Set a new record with us!

This year European "Restart a Heart" Day is going global in an attempt to promote CPR training and advocate first aid education. The celebration, held on October 16th, serves to show how easy it is to learn a skill which can prove to be essential when saving someone's life.

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity has initiated, runs and finances a nationwide CPR for Schools initiative with an aim to introduce free CPR and first aid training to all primary schools in the country, and "Restart a Heart" Day is a great opportunity to show how easy is to teach and practice such an essential skill. The idea of the initiative is as simple as it is effective - the charity provides teachers with training and free teaching materials (such as books, exercise books, manikins), who in turn conduct free, extracurricular lessons for their pupils. The program is available for all Polish primary schools. Up till now, over 3.5 million children have been introduced to the main elements of CPR and first aid. What is more, schoolchildren learn how to behave in a dangerous situation, whom to call for help and what information to provide. The classes foster independent thinking, decision-making and assertiveness in very young children, encouraging them to become responsible and careful.

Just like in the previous years, we invite everyone to take part in a national record attempt. We want to perform the biggest simultaneous CPR session! Hopefully, this nationwide drive will promote CPR and first aid knowledge to an even wider group of people because bystander resuscitation is proven to be one of the key factors in preventing death and disability caused by a sudden cardiac arrest.

Everyone is more than welcome to help spread awareness by hosting and organizing their own local event - held in a venue which is accessible to the public it can attract attention from the local community. You can also take part in the event - just find out where the record attempt is held! Usually, these events are great fun-filled family events.

The record attempt is scheduled to begin at noon sharp and to end at 12:30 pm.
