Discover the Grand Finale Fundraiser!
The Grand Finale fundraiser is a one-day public charitable fundraiser, which traditionally takes place on the second Sunday of January. The collection is held internationally, and it is managed by the local hubs of philanthropic activity – Collection Centres. 1700 Collection Centres organize the work of 120 000 volunteers. Our charitable Orchestra “plays” across the world –wherever there is an active and thriving Polish community abroad: Australia, New Zealand, Japan, across Europe, in Americas and onboard of Polish ships and vessels and even at the North Pole research station!
The day is packed to the brim with events, activities, concerts and sporting challenges and the communities get to come together to have fun and raise funds.
Since 1993, Grand Finale fundraiser is held in aid of a specific medical objective. Our main goal is to support Polish children’s hospitals by the purchase of modern medical equipment. We also finance six medical and one educational initiative. Benefactors can support the effort by putting money in the Collection Boxes, making online and mobile transfers as well as taking part in charitable auctions held via Allegro platform.
At 8:00 PM, we all gather to witness a spectacular light show. Known as “Light Up the Sky”, the display is meant to bring people together to celebrate the community and to alight the winter sky with a positive message.
Another highlight of the day comes at 11 PM. We auction off some of the most precious lots – Golden Heart pins and Golden SIM Cards are sold during an exciting bidding war which is broadcast during a live telethon. At midnight we announce the preliminary results of the charitable collection.
In the 27 years of our charitable endeavours, we raised over EUR 250 000 000 (over PLN 1 100 000 000)
We donated over 61 900 pieces of medical equipment.
