Our Charity Set to Improve Cancer Diagnostics
The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity aims to improve the speed and precision of paediatric cancer diagnosis available in public hospitals in Poland.
We supported nephrology wards, treating the youngest patients with kidney conditions, during two Grand Finales. As a result, we managed to buy and donated 1 034 medical devices for over PLN 36 500 000!
World Kidney Day traditionally takes place on the second Thursday of March. Celebration, which is meant to raise awareness of nephrology conditions and kidney diseases, has been initiated by the International Society of Nephrology and International Federation of Kidney Foundations in 2006.
Our charity raised money in aid of nephrological conditions twice. We collected money to buy medical equipment for clinics and hospital wards where the youngest patients with kidney diseases are treated. Money raised in the years 2000 and 2011 allowed us to buy 1 034 pieces of medical equipment which help doctors save the lives of children!

Jurek Owsiak travelled to Kołobrzeg to unveil two new location commemorating of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation - one a brand new roundabout and the second one - a whimsical statue of a seagull representing a volunteer.
PET / CT scanner is a highly advanced diagnostics device in treating children. The facility, worth over several million PLN is the first machine tailored to diagnose the youngest patients. The purchase will be made as part of the 54th Open Tender held by our charity.
