We supported nephrology wards, treating the youngest patients with kidney conditions, during two Grand Finales. As a result, we managed to buy and donated 1 034 medical devices for over PLN 36 500 000!
World Kidney Day traditionally takes place on the second Thursday of March. Celebration, which is meant to raise awareness of nephrology conditions and kidney diseases, has been initiated by the International Society of Nephrology and International Federation of Kidney Foundations in 2006.
Our charity raised money in aid of nephrological conditions twice. We collected money to buy medical equipment for clinics and hospital wards where the youngest patients with kidney diseases are treated. Money raised in the years 2000 and 2011 allowed us to buy 1 034 pieces of medical equipment which help doctors save the lives of children!
The equipment we bought for children's nephrology includes:
- 233 machines for automated peritoneal dialysis
- 14 water treatment stations
- 8 vehicles used to transport children for dialysis
- 44 hemodialysis machines
- 36 devices for continuous renal replacement therapy
- 64 ultrasound machines
Overall, we donated 1 034 medical devices for over PLN 36 000 000!
