Equipment for the fight against sepsis
The GOCC Foundation has just completed the three-day-long 66th Open Tender held to buy medical equipment for the fight against sepsis. The Foundation spent a record-breaking amount of PLN 168 million!
Our first virtual edition of the "Get Even with Diabetes Run" responded to the challenge posed by the pandemic and lockdown. We wanted to create an event that is accessible to all, open, and still safe for the participants, standing for the core ideas behind the run: promotion of a healthy lifestyle and community spirit. We also wanted to raise as much money as possible to aid one of our medical initiatives – a programme that provides free personal insulin pumps for pregnant women with diabetes.
The first edition proved also the reach of new technologies and their power to unite people, regardless of the time zone. We decided to continue this new tradition of ours. The virtual run allows anyone who registers on our platform and pays a participation fee of PLN 65 (+ delivery fee) to participate in the race and contribute to the purchase of personal insulin pumps.
Anyone can participate in our virtual run—provided that you sign up with our running platform so that we can count the distance you managed to cover. Last time, you have covered a distance which equals 37 walks around Poland!
Please note! If you sign up for the virtual run, you will not be allowed to participate in the Warsaw race on Sunday due to safety and logistics reasons.
The registration process for the 17th Get Even with Diabetes Race was traditionally launched on 14 November 2022 on World Diabetes Day. Volunteers may sign up for the Warsaw race until 29 January (5,000 spots available), and till 30 January for the virtual race.
