Each year we finish the day of the Grand Finale fundraiser with a preliminary amount of money we collected in aid of our charity. The sum is preliminary because it is based on the estimated amount raised by our volunteers, our online auctions and other means of support.
The GOCC foundation reserves the right to monitor the work of the wards, which have benefited from the fundraiser and check if the equipment has been put to good use. We are delighted when we are able to honour the exceptional wards and bestow them with the name of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
There are 10wards named after the Foundation working in Poland at the moment. It is the least we can do to show our deep appreciation of their commitment to saving the lives and health of children.Even though each year we receive many requests from hospitals, which wish to secure the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity name, we always carefully analyse their work and credentials. We need to make sure that the medical personnel go above and beyond to provide treatment to their patients. We also make sure that the medical programmes we initiated and finance are being implemented correctly and check if the equipment gifted to the GOCC is used to its full capacity. We would like to praise the hospitals which show that our donation has been an impulse to keep growing and spurred the management to develop and advance.
We also consider the opinion of medical consultants working for the Ministry of Health and the parents' thoughts on the work of the hospitals which apply for the GOCC name.
The 9 hospitals which bear the name of the Grand Orchestra of Christmas Charity are located in Lublin, Elbląg, Gdańsk, Warsaw, Ostrów Wielkopolski, Krakow, Cieszyn, and Łódź.
