The members of the Board of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation received European Citizen's Prize in the European Parliament. We have been honoured to receive the award alongside three other Polish NGOs: Polish-Jewish Forum and Alicja Szatkowska.
How to recognize our volunteer?
We took our initiative all around the world and there are 120 000 volunteers working to raise money to improve the conditions at Polish hospitals for children. Everyone is welcome to volunteer with us - regardless of their age, religion and where they come from.
What unites them is positivity, optimism, and a few key elements which each volunteer must carry with them:
- vibrant Collection Box - this year we went with butterflies and children's toys
- ID card
- the number on the ID card must march the number on the Collection Box
- plenty of red heart-shaped stickers
Please bear in mind that our volunteers do not do door-to-door fundraising. You can meet them on the streets and marketplaces of towns and cities across the country, and at different events taking place abroad. You can check if there are any fundraising events taking place in your area here.
Very often our volunteers would dress up to attract more attention to themselves, and they should be fundraising in a group - it's much safer that way.
If you meet one of our brave volunteers - even if you don't want to donate to our cause - give them a smile!
The 12-year old has shown he has what it takes to become a real hero by helping a senior citizen. The boy learned first aid during CPR for Schools lessons at his primary school!
Volunteers from Collection Centres in Holland met to discuss new ideas, plans for the future fundraiser, and compared experiences of holding our vibrant fundraiser in the Netherlands.
