Grand Finale

We have the primary amount - now what?

2018-02-01 12:18:53

You were able to follow the entire process thanks to a banner on our website, which has been regularly updated with the most recent sum we have had in our account. The sum was growing at an impressive pace, getting closer and closer to the primary amount we have announced at the end of the day of the Grand Finale on January 14th.

Why couldn't we reveal the final amount we have raised at the closing of the day of the Grand Finale, and why do we choose to announce a primary amount at the end of the public collection?

First of all, the primary amount is based on the information about individual fundraisers held by different local collection centres, which count the money throughout the day. The sums they inform us about can only be preliminary calculations when one considers the fact that they have to work quickly and they cannot account for the worth of foreign currency or goods, such as jewellery and other valuable items. Secondly, you still could have donated via online fundraisers. There were online Collection Boxes, Facebook fundraisers and charitable texts sent in support of our objective. There are online auctions still open, and people can bid on different items - it means that the funds are still flowing into the charity's account. All this means that we can reveal the entire, precise amount after we receive all funds into our accounts and we are able to calculate how much exactly we have raised in order to ensure that all babies born in Poland have equal access to medical care - regardless of where in Poland they are born.

Today, the sum of money we have in our account has officially surpassed the primary sum we have announced at the end of the day of the Grand Finale - we have raised over 81 423 542 PLN so far, but we are still counting funds. The final amount will be officially revealed on March the 8th, so we are freezing our online counter for now.

We would like you to remember that you play an essential part in making it all happen. There is a wonderful community of volunteers, the staff at the Collection Centres located across the globe and brilliant, generous supporters of our cause. We hope that we will be able to surpass our expectations yet again, but this fundraiser is not about breaking records - it's about creating a community, raising awareness and helping those who need our support the most!
