Rookies arrived in Malbork early in the morning and we kicked off their training with a location based game, which was meant to quickly test their problem-solving skills and make sure that they feel comfortable in each-other's company before we moved on to activities which inconporated elements of survival.
The future members of the Peace Patrol were to go through an action filled 3-day training course. After first day of the course, which consisted of challenges such as ropes course and crossing a pond on a make-shift raft, the trainees received their own red T-shirts and began AHA approved first aid training. Throughout the action-filled weekend they have learned how to work in a group and how to perform first aid. Their knowledge and fortitude is tested at a simulation, which takes place at night. The participants need to behave as if they are on site of a real accident and deal with instructors playing the part of victims.
The members of the Peace Patrol also learn about the law concerning the organization of mass events in Poland, because they are going to be taking up different roles during Woodstock Festival Poland.
Five days before the 32nd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, we visited the 'Pomnik - Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka' (Children's Memorial Health Institute) to ceremoniously inaugurate the first Ophthalmic Simulation Laboratory in Europe dedicated exclusively to the field of peadiatric ophthalmology.

Traditionally, on Fridays just before the Grand Finale fundraiser, the GOCC Foundation hosts a press conference to sum up the preparations for the annual collection. Jurek Owsiak will present all our initiatives, actions, and activities as we prepare to celebrate another edition of the joyous celebration of kindness!
