Each year, at the very stroke of midnight on the Grand Finale day, we announce the preliminary result of our fundraiser. The product estimates based on reports we receive from local Collection Centres, preliminary results from online auctions and internet fundraisers. But what does the initial amount actually stand for?
At the end of the fundraiser's day, we announced that we raised PLN 127 495 626. This result will be verified and will change as the online donations will continue to be transferred into our account until the end of February. Online auctions will be ongoing until February 14th. Local Collection Centres will still have an opportunity to verify the result of their fundraisers. It is also worth bearing in mind that you can even donate via Facebook or text, so naturally, the result of the collection will change over time.
The amount in our account, which is displayed on our website, shows the actual money in our account, which we update twice daily. We freeze the count once we reach the benchmark of the preliminary account. We take the time to celebrate the reveal of Grand Finale fundraiser, relishing an opportunity to surprise our benefactors with the final result. This year we plan to announce the result of our collection on March 29th.
Five days before the 32nd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, we visited the 'Pomnik - Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka' (Children's Memorial Health Institute) to ceremoniously inaugurate the first Ophthalmic Simulation Laboratory in Europe dedicated exclusively to the field of peadiatric ophthalmology.
