The day of the Grand Finale is looming, and weeks from now we will be all collecting money to buy equipment for neonatal units in the country. There will be concerts, sporting events, workshops, gaming sessions - and many more different initiatives taking place in Poland and abroad. It's a wonderful day - a day filled with positivity, optimism and joy. The weather might be wintery, but the atmosphere is definitely hot!
Would you like to make a difference and show that you are a force for good? Nothing easier - you can become a volunteer!
Even though the Foundation's office is located in Warsaw, the Grand Finale charitable collection is a beautiful grass-roots initiative. The collection is organised locally, by people who come together to form a Collection Centre. Local Collection Centres are staffed with volunteers, who then take up different responsibilities. Some volunteers are more involved in the running of the Collection Centre, while others commit to collecting money on the day of the Grand Finale only. There is plenty to do, and if you want to help to hold a Grand Finale Collection in your area, you should get in touch with your local Collection Centre first. People working there will be able to tell you how you can get involved.
There are usually around 1600 Collection Centres registered to hold the Grand Finale in Poland and abroad and they work with 120 thousand volunteers. Depending on how much time you can commit to the organization of the biggest charitable event in Poland, you can either join the team of the Collection Centre on the more permanent basis or just apply to take part in the public collection on January the 14th. Either way, volunteering is great for your soul, it's also a fantastic way to meet like-minded people and power your batteries with positive energy and enthusiasm for weeks to come!
