The auction of the most generous benefactors is one of the most intense moments of the Grand Finale. Closely watched by millions online and on the TV, the emotional climax is caused by the sheers magic of skyrocketing offers placed by most generous bidders wanting to grab a hold of a Golden Heart or a Golden Card "Play".
Is the Golden Card "Play" really made of gold?
Yes... but not entirely of course. As usual, it's a bit complicated. To assure functioning, the cards cannot be made uniquely out of this precious current conducting element :) Play (Polish cellphone service provider) provided 100 fully functional 24 karat gold-plated nano SIM cards.
What is a Golden Heart?
Our benefactors show us support in many different ways. Some of them decide to donate their most precious treasures. Quite frequently, we receive golden rings, bracelets, lockets and earings paired with touching stories. The gold is melted and made into a 4.5g Golden Heart.

As you already know, we play with everyone and for everyone. What is more, in Warsaw we play in a totally new location! For the first time ever the heart of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will be beating at the PGE Narodowy meadows.
On 5 December, we organized the 68th Open Tender dedicated to the aim of the 30th Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, i.e. paediatric ophthalmology.
Jurek Owsiak, conductor of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, gave the signal and the 32nd Grand Finale officially began.
