Jurek Owsiak received 'Plus ratio quam vis' Medal from the members of the Senate of Jagiellonian University. The Latin name of this award translates as 'mind over strength' and the founder of the Foundation has been recognized for his tireless commitment to improving the level of care offered to patients in public hospitals in Poland and support that the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation has offered to University Children's Hospital in Krakow, in particular.

Five days before the 32nd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, we visited the 'Pomnik - Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka' (Children's Memorial Health Institute) to ceremoniously inaugurate the first Ophthalmic Simulation Laboratory in Europe dedicated exclusively to the field of peadiatric ophthalmology.
