Fundraising efforts have sprung up across Wales, Scotland, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and even as far afield as Bali, to support Polish communities affected by recent floods.

The past week has been a challenging time for residents of southern Poland. Yet, once again, we have witnessed the immense kindness and resilience of our collective spirit. The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP) Foundation quickly launched a relief campaign, supported by volunteers from around the globe.

As well as promoting the WOŚP Foundation’s “Flood Relief” initiative, our international friends have organised independent efforts, playing an active role in providing much-needed assistance.

Charity Concert in Newport

The WOŚP Collection Centre in Newport is hosting a charity concert to raise funds for the “Flood Relief” campaign. The evening promises live music, raffles, and even a piñata. Once again, the Orchestra’s spirit shows that helping others can bring joy, even in the most difficult and heartbreaking circumstances.

Scottish Initiatives: “24 Tons in 24 Days”

Meanwhile, the Aberdeen, Dundee, and Perth Collection Centres have launched an extraordinary initiative called “24 Tons in 24 Days,” collecting donations for flood victims. A similar project is underway in Edinburgh under the banner “Scottish Polonia for Flood Victims.” These organisers are focused on providing targeted aid and ensuring that supplies reach specific locations.

Fundraiser in Bristol

This Saturday, the Bristol Collection Centre is hosting a fundraiser for flood victims. All proceeds will go directly to the WOŚP Foundation’s “Flood Relief” campaign. The event, taking place at The Plough Club, will feature children’s activities, karaoke, a book fair, and live performances from local artists Iwona & Big Stach, Fireghost, and the Carpathian Folk Band Emigranty.

Relief Efforts in the Netherlands

The WOŚP Breda-Rosendaal and Den Haag Chapters have rallied their communities to collect donations, setting up multiple drop-off points across the Netherlands for essential items needed by flood victims. The Den Haag Collection Centre's leader is personally overseeing the distribution of supplies in Poland to ensure aid reaches those most in need.

Support from Germany

Similarly, the Altena-Iserlohn Collection Centre has started a local donation drive, with volunteers from Edewecht and Hannover joining forces to collect water and food supplies for transportation to southern Poland. The Bonn Chapter, working in partnership with “Let’s Help Together,” is gathering donations and organising transport to the hardest-hit areas, with a charity concert also planned in the near future.

Aid from Paris

The Polish community in Paris has been actively supporting the cause. The WOŚP Paris Facebook page provides regular updates on donation point addresses and contact details for local coordinators.

Help from Bali
Support is even coming from Bali, where the WOŚP Bali Collection Centre has teamed up with local businesses, including two restaurants and a diving centre, to set up donation boxes. Contributions are being collected to aid flood relief efforts in Poland.

A Message of Gratitude

We extend our deepest thanks to everyone for their generosity, heartfelt contributions, and the extraordinary mobilisation of our volunteers. Once again, you have demonstrated the incredible power of unity and compassion. Helping is simple, and together, we can achieve so much more.

Sending you all an abundance of positive energy – thank you!
