The Orchestra has started to play!
Jurek Owsiak, conductor of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, gave the signal and the 32nd Grand Finale officially began.
What is the difference between the preliminary result we announce at midnight of the Grand Finale and the amount we publish on our website? To put matters simply - the preliminary amount we announce on the day of the Grand Finale comprises of the estimate amounts raised by each Collection Centres, digital fundraisers and donations made by corporate partners. This year, we announced that the preliminary sum - the estimated amount we raised in aid of children's medicine was 92 143 798 PLN (over 21 000 000 EUR).
The amount in our account is just what it says on the tin - it's money we have in our account at any given moment. The counter on our homepage is updated daily and will be stopped once the amount in our account will reflect the preliminary result of the fundraiser. However, the money will still be counted and we will announce the final amount we raised to buy medical equipment for specialized children's hospitals.
