Lidia Niedźwiedzka-Owsiak, who is the director of the medical division of the GOCC Foundation, was awarded an Honoris Causa at the Poznań University of Medical Sciences. This recognition was given in appreciation of her commitment to upholding the highest standards in healthcare.

We are celebrating the 30th anniversary of registering our Foundation. Can you believe it? The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation was registered exactly on 2 March 1993.

Our charity allocated PLN 20 000 000 (EUR 4 400 000) to support Polish health agencies fighting coronavirus outbreak. We will donate 50 thousand sets of personal protection equipment, 150 ICU beds, and machine for Covid-19 detection.

Our charity aims to improve the conditions at psychiatric wards for children and adolescents not only by purchasing medical equipment and hospital furniture, but also by engaging in meaningful discussions with the professionals in the field to seek long-term solutions.

Each Grand Finale fundraiser has a medical objective - we raise money to buy equipment for children's hospitals. Each year, we set a very clear fundraising goal. This year we are going to support paediatric surgery and subsequent treatment.

Jurek Owsiak, the chairman and the creator of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation, picked up the European Citizen's Prize on behalf of the entire Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation.

This year's Woman of the Year is Lidia Niedźwiedzka-Owsiak: medical director of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation, social activist and driving force behind the charity. She has been acknowledged for consistency, prudence, and diligence in building the Foundation.
