The 32nd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (GOCC) was dedicated to acquiring equipment for diagnosing, monitoring, and rehabilitating patients in pulmonology wards – catering to both children and adults. Just under five months after the campaign ended, we are ready to make our first purchases of equipment.

Reflecting on the past few months, we are filled with immense happiness and pride. Together with you, our dedicated volunteers, we have achieved so much. It is equally gratifying to see our efforts recognised beyond Poland’s borders.

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (GOCC) Foundation continues its battle against sepsis! Thanks to the funds raised during the 31st Grand Finale, we have already equipped 208 facilities across Poland with 510 pieces of specialist equipment. Now, we are making additional purchases to further enhance the diagnostic capabilities of microbiological laboratories!

During the 32nd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, an astounding 1,685 Collection Centres joined in, including 100 in 23 countries worldwide! Thanks to the immense dedication of our volunteers, the Orchestra's spirit resonated across 5 continents and even reached both poles! On 28th January, we witnessed an extraordinary global celebration.

From 23rd to 26th May, in the sunny town of Lloret de Mar, Spain, the 6th International Collection Centres Get-Together took place. This special event brought together nearly 100 representatives from 34 Collection Centres across 13 countries, all united by their dedication to organising the GOCC Grand Finales outside of Poland.

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (GOCC) has been featured in Philip Kotler's book "Essentials of Modern Marketing - Poland Edition," showcasing the modern technologies used by the Foundation. This significant inclusion highlights the innovative methods employed by the GOCC in the realm of volunteering and fundraising.

The Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences jumped on board with the 32nd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity by tossing into the mix the chance to sling your name into the cosmos – well, sort of. They offered up the opportunity to win an engraving on the shell of a photometer set to kick it 1.5 million kilometres from our little blue marble. The winner of the auction was Paweł Orepuk, bidding PLN 10,099.

On 9th May, we celebrate Ophthalmologists and Ophthalmology Day, a holiday that is particularly significant for our Foundation. Since 2001, our Programme for the Prevention and Treatment of Retinopathy of Prematurity has been safeguarding the eyesight of our little heroes!

Last weekend we managed to complete a project that we have been working on together with the Polish community living in Scotland for several years. The GOCC Foundation has its own tartan! On Sunday, during a special visit to Scotland, Jerzy Owsiak received a brand new kilt.

On 17 April 2023, the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (GOCC) marked a significant milestone in paediatric ophthalmology purchasing four simulators specifically designed for teaching the examination of children for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).

Last week, a training course for candidates certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) and applying to become GOCC instructors took place at the Szadowo-Młyn GOCC Training Centre as part of the "CPR for Schools" educational program.

Almost 350m2 of the GOCC mural adorns the Bielany district! Designed by Jerzy Owsiak, the street wall art decorates the building at Marymoncka 155 in Warsaw.

It's high time we learned the final result of this year's collection - our Summer Blaze in January! Jurek Owsiak has just announced the final total of the 32nd Grand Finale fundraiser.

On March, 27, the GOCC Foundation will reveal the final result of the 32nd Grand Finale fundraiser! The aim of the collection is to procure medical equipment for all 64 respiratory units nationwide.

We have been conducting the educational program CPR for Schools (RUR) since 2006. Over these 18 years, nearly 3 million children have learned basic life-saving skills through the activities of the RUR Programme. We are relaunching the training for teachers and inviting schools from all over Poland to apply!
